In addition to her performance on the Avalon Stage on Friday at Glastonbury, Cara and Sam performed "Garden Valley" live on BBC Two on Saturday night after Kanye West's controversial show. Some might say an appropriate antidote...but we couldn't possibly comment...other than it's absolutely sublime!!! Watch the video back HERE
BBC TWO Northern Ireland are currenty broadcasting a landmark three part music series called FOLK ADUAIDH examining the untold history of folk music in Ulster whilst looking at the social, political and cultural backdrop from which the music is set. Cara features in episodes 2 and 3 with her being interviewed and performing with Sam in both episodes.
"Thanks to everyone who extended their best wishes to me during my nomination for "Folk Singer Of The Year". I had brilliant evening in Cardiff the other night and although I missed out Sam and I were over the moon that Nancy Kerr won. In fact, we would have been happy for all the nominees in the category to have picked up the title. The aftershow was great fun, I especially loved meeting Nessa (Ruth Jones) and it was fantastic catching up with old friends."
There has been a long and ongoing misunderstanding regarding the YouTube video of "Man In The Rain" from Mike Oldfield's "Live At Horseguards Parade" performance filmed in 1998. Cara would like to clarify that this video does indeed feature her vocals from the studio recording but the video shows Pepsi DeMacque miming to Cara's voice.
Music City Roots is returning to Belfast to record a second special TV show in The Belfast Empire featuring Cara Dillon, Foy Vance and Grammy Award Winning artist Jim Lauderdale. The show will be included in a series of one-hour music television specials broadcast on PBS channels into sixty million homes across USA!
